In order for documents issued in one country to be valid in another, an official document must be certified by the Apostille or legalized.
Ways to legalize documents:
- Documents legalized under the Apostille
- Legalization of documents in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania
What type of legalization to choose – apostilization or legalization?
- It depends on the state in which the document will be used. If the document is to be used in a country which is a party to the 1961 Hague Convention, then Apostille is required. Documents are certified by Apostille in Notarial offices of the Republic of Lithuania.
