Apostille and document legalization

In order for documents issued in one country to be valid in another, an official document must be certified by the Apostille or legalized.

Ways to legalize documents:

  1. Documents legalized under the Apostille
  2. Legalization of documents in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania

What type of legalization to choose – apostilization or legalization?

- It depends on the state in which the document will be used. If the document is to be used in a country which is a party to the 1961 Hague Convention, then Apostille is required. Documents are certified by Apostille in Notarial offices of the Republic of Lithuania.
